Choose a search engine, switch layouts, disable Sammy on specific sites, or turn it off everywhere, all from the built-in Firefox add-on preferences page. Nothing syncs to a server because nothing is sent to one.

Sammy has no background script, makes no network requests of its own, and never sees your selections. The only thing it stores is your own settings (engine choice, layout, and disabled sites) in browser.storage.local, on your machine.

Good to know

Does Sammy work inside text boxes or forms?

No, by design. The menu never appears inside <input>, <textarea>, or any editable/contenteditable element, so it never gets in the way of typing.

Will it interfere with the right-click menu?

No. Sammy's menu is a separate, lightweight popup tied only to text selection, and your browser's normal context menu behaves exactly as before.

Can I turn it off for specific sites?

Yes. The options page has a Disabled sites list: add a domain and Sammy stops appearing there (subdomains are covered automatically).

Does it collect any data?

No. There's no background script, no remote code, and no analytics. Settings are stored locally in your browser and never leave your device.
